Boxer store remains committed to serving the communities of Elliotdale and nearby areas, alongside contributing to the improvement of educational institutions and churches through generous donations.
Boxer communication specialist Jason Mcall mentioned to Elliotdale Scoop that the company regularly participates in corporate social responsibility efforts each month in the area. This commitment aligns with the increasing demand for higher-quality goods as the community population grows.
Meanwhile, branch manager for Boxer Build in Elliotdale, Lona Mandlenkomo said that she is proud to be part of the Boxer family. Mandlenkomo began her journey at Boxer Build as a non-permanent employee and worked her way up through succession programmes within the business.
“I am proudly managing the store, and I say proudly because the store is also located where I was born and raised. I understand how our company works, we are so focused on the community, through employment, and by giving back in various CSR initiatives; helping schools, the community in general, and more. My store is the place where the community can shop for quality products, and we genuinely make a difference,” she added.
Mandlenkomo also said that Boxer Build has helped shaped a lot of professional careers within the community. This growth not only benefits individuals but also contributes to the development of the local communities, a source of great pride for everyone involved.
Some of the schools that Boxer assisted with donations include, Ganizulu Senior Secondary School, Sirunu Junior Secondary School and Mngazana Junior Secondary School.
“A few of the CSI initiatives include assisting several schools in the area with signage, helping local soccer clubs, assisting youth. These include development organisations, and churches, to name a few,” said Mcall.
According to Mcall, Boxer Build is the preferred hardware store for many builders in the area. He emphasized that Boxer Build is committed to offering high-quality products for home renovations, construction, and DIY projects, which ultimately enhances the quality of homes being built in terms of product standards.
“Our Boxer Build stores stock carefully curated items which our shoppers seek out in order to build, or DIY renovate. We believe that we are making a difference,” he said.
The store also contributed food and refreshments to the local Kaizer Chiefs football club during their branch launch in the area. Additionally, Boxer also donated refreshments to the Nkanya Festival Youth Development event hosted by the Bomvana horse racing club. Furthermore, the store supported the H.O.G.M Church by providing food and drinks for a three-day conference they hosted for Sunday school children. These donations demonstrate Boxer’s commitment to supporting local community initiatives and events.
