A woman who was traveling to East London from Bloemfontein has been arrested for possession of drugs after the police flying squad received a tip-off from anonymous sources and found drugs stacked in her suitcase.
The 36-year-old was arrested on Saturday after SAPS followed after SAPS traced the bus that the woman was traveling in and later spotted it at the Windmill roadhouse (bus station), where the female passenger was identified and police requested permission to search her bag. The suspect is facing the charge of dealing in drugs and will appear before the East London Magistrate Court on Monday.
“Upon searching the suspect’s bag, they recovered drugs suspected to be Tik, fifteen (15) bricks of crystal meth were found in her possession. Drugs weighed 20.50 kg in total to the street value of R3 million rands were confiscated by Police,” said East London SAPS spokesperson Captain Hazel Maqa.
